The White Tiger - Arvind Adiga

Hi,
After a long time i started off with this book. I downloaded this ebook into my new personal Laptop. This is the first ebook i read in my new laptop ;). I am just curious what makes this book unique when it qualified for the Booker. I have to say the author is Indian youngest ever - to get the booker prize. I was always turned on by the good books. The book is about one local villager's journey from darkness (Poor village life) to entrepreneurial success. If you know about India, you will relish on this book - A real page-turner.

I like the below quote by the Author - expressing his interest in books.

"So I stood around that big square of books. Standing around books, even books in a foreign language, you feel a kind of electricity buzzing up toward you, Your Excellency. It just happens, the way you get erect around girls wearing tight jeans."

I am sure going to start reading one more time over this weekend, Intriguing.

Thanks,
Soma

Eragon - The Argetlam

Hi all,
I am back after a long time. Lots of twists and turns in my life after i started reading this book "The Eragon by Christopher paolini". I am kinda of person who wish to read classics and more romance, but never completed my wish. This is first step into the world of mythology, heard about a lot from my friends about the other mythological masterpieces like LOTR, HP etc. I came to know that author s an teenager, wondered how ppl are coming up with good plots for the story. Actually this is first book in the trilogy, wish to read the other 2. The story s about a Dragon rider and his adventures. It has got good substance to keep the reader to carry till the end. His protest against the empire to guard the elves and dwarves. Will bring the thoughts about the magic and u will be wondering how ppl r communicating with their thoughts even when they r miles apart. A good book to spend the weekend with.. Will meet all after my next encounter!
Thanks ,

Indian Author Week

I have seen this book in the stands for quite some time. The book name is "If God was a Banker" by Ravi Subramanian. It was a Good Guy - Bad Guy story. The story is about 2 young IIM graduates joining the International Bank's venture in India as trainees. Good guy from South India esp Chennai who believes in honesty and simplicity opposite to the bad guy. The story takes us through their lives and their ways and experiences in reaching a top position in the bank. Quite an interesting read for me., worth spending one week end, i feel!
Cheers!

Yet another Indian Author Book

I have finished another Indian Author Book - Those Small Lil things (In Life and Love) By Rahul Saini. The guy who wrote the book is 2 or 3 years elder than me. He is an Architect working in Delhi. He is a movie buff, quotes dialogues and scenes from lot of movies. It was a ok kinda book. After reading Chetan Bhagat's books, this one lacks a clear storyline. But it brings back some of our Childhood memories.
Cheers!
